About Us
Net4Barter pioneered the Indian Corporate barter industry, when it
commenced operations in June 2000. Research done prior to commencement, brought
out a huge opportunity for barter transactions amongst Indian companies,
enabling them to buy products and services without spending cash (paying in
kind) and helping all in tackling their regular excess stock problems. The
reason companies could not do anything on their own or through their huge sales
/ purchase teams was on account of the struggle to find partners with matching
requirements.
For Example - The Radisson Hotel (our client now) required to buy office
equipment for its new offices in Mumbai and Banglore, but even though they
wished to save cash and wanted to do a barter deal, they had no clue how. It was
impossible for them to find a supplier of office equipment, which would accept
payment in the form of rooms! The list was endless with scores of companies
wanting to immediately buy in kind and an equivalent number of companies wanting
to liquidate excess stocks and in return buy what they normally spend cash on.
The solution revolved around the creation of an organized trade exchange at a
national level, consisting of a network of companies, which would be facilitated
through the exchange to trade amongst them.
Net4Barter operates as a trade exchange, facilitating trading transactions,
developing the member network, marketing products and services across members,
maintaining records & accounts and importantly underwriting transactions.
Net4Barter’s revenue stream consists of Transaction fee’s charged to
clients.
Whenever they make a purchase (and not upon selling). This fee
is 10% of the transaction value.
Net4Barter has over the years built a strong base of loyal and satisfied
clients across industries which include blue chip names such as: Business India, Business World, Godrej, Grand Hyatt, Hindustan Times, Hotel
